After 15 years, My Tech Guys Founder and The Extreme Geek Bob Wells has decided to sell his company and pass it’s legacy onto DJ Levy, Andrew Labun and Ariel Cidro of Alpha Strategy and GCS Tech. DJ, Andrew and Ariel are the owners of GCS Tech which has been providing IT services to North Vancouver Island for over a decade. “Their dedication to clients without all the geek speak and great employees, many of whom I have trained, with decades of experience made this decision easy. They have the vision and capacity to take My Tech Guys into the future.”
Since 2006 My Tech Guys has serviced over 25,000 customers, including almost 2,000 businesses. Bob has brought a fun culture to the company with funny cars and baby photos of himself and his family. His vision was to provide friendly computer service for his valued customers, and through this passion, My Tech Guys has won several prestigious awards over the years such as 2010 BC’s Business Growth Award, 2009 Comox Valley Small Business of the Year, 2008 MISTIC Best IT Service, The Record Readers Choice Best IT and more Best Parade Float prizes than they can remember.
Bob has valued the need to continue giving back to his community by supporting many events such as Vancouver Island MusicFest, Comox Air Shows, Child Development Telethons, YANA Dinners, as well as recycling computers and donating them to non profit organizations. “I could never have imagined that we would be able to support our community as much as we have and truly thank all our customers who make this possible.” Says Bob Wells
“Selling the business has been a very hard decision to make as I truly love My Tech Guys, my employees and my amazing customers. However, the last 18 months has been challenging, making it difficult to devote my time to the business at it’s busiest time, to the City of Courtenay, and to my family.”
Bob plans to continue as Vice President of the Wells family and leading the City of Courtenay as Mayor, but looks forward to exploring other interests in the future.
